Tonight’s quest for a full stomach finds us at Cinco’s Mexican Cantina on Akers Mill Road in Smyrna. Or is it Marietta? Or Vinings? Who knows–their address on the internet says Atlanta, but it’s in Cobb County, so there’s no way we are in Atlanta. Anyway, I digress.

We have driven by this place a million times and really wanted to eat on their rooftop on a nice spring night. Unfortunately, this is not a nice spring night as a raging rainstorm blows through right before we get there. It’s cool enough to eat outside, but everything is soaked, so we decide to eat inside. We get there around 6PM and it’s starting to get busy. One huge table is filled with a bunch of co-workers out for Friday beers. Because it’s early, other tables have parents with their kids.
I ask about happy hour drink specials and am very disappointed to find out that they have none. Really? It’s Mexican food, so I order a Dos Equis Amber (stay thirsty, my friends), and Eve has water because she had some minor toe surgery earlier in the day. We also order the spinach and portobello mushroom quesadilla as an appetizer.

We were pretty hungry, so the quesadilla did not last long. Nor did the basket of chips that was on our table, but by the time the appetizer was gone, we were pretty full. Eve ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and I went with the fried chicken soft tacos. Both were excellent choices and although we shared them, but only 2 of the tacos got eaten. When you have a teenage son at home, nothing goes to waste and the extra taco vanished at lunch the next day.
