Friday Date Night is gets “schnitzeled” at a pre-opening media event at a new eatery in Sandy Springs. And we don’t even have a drink!
All they do at Seven Hens is schnitzel–seven different kinds to be exact. Seven Hens–get it?
This is the second Atlanta location for Seven Hens. The original is in Decatur. It’s a fast-food type establishment with fresh, healthy options.
They are pounding and preparing schnitzel from scratch, and you can watch!
You order your food at a window, and you get a schnitzel lesson while you wait. Most of their sales are at lunch, but we are told they do a good catering business as well.
We don’t have everything on the menu, but we do sample five different styles.
All of the schnitzels we taste are fresh, crunchy and flavorful. The bread is toasty and a perfect complement to the chicken. Food flies out of the kitchen and flies off of the serving platters at a high rate of speed.
We taste a few side items also, try a cucumber shot in a tangy vinaigrette dressing.
And don’t miss the crunchy, yet flaky house made tortilla chips when you visit. You can’t eat one of these chips. Once you have one, you want to eat the entire tray.
They are all about choices here at Seven Hens so if you don’t find a signature style you like you can build your own Schnitzel by choosing from an array of toppings and sauces.
New on Date Night: For special restaurants we are now posting videos on Tastemade to supplement our blog. You can watch the video here.
The verdict: We like the atmosphere and the freshness of the food. The prices seem reasonable and we think this place will hit the mark with the lunch crowd in the area.
Disclaimer time: Since this was a media event, we did not pay for tonight’s schnitzel. Our opinions, however, are priceless. Thanks to the hardest working woman in the PR business, Kitsy Rose, for the invitation to this event.
