Everybody Must Get Sconed

One of the benefits of being award-winning food bloggers is that every now and then, we get some really yummy treats in the mail. When we get the opportunity to sample some goodies from Seven Sisters Scones in Johns Creek, we put on a Rolling Scones album and jump right into the box.

And what a box it is. Not only do we get a bag of sconies (mini-scones), we get to try their blueberry “bisconie” and a bag of basil thai chili croutons. Life is good at Date Night headquarters.

Look at the flavors you can get.

As you can see, these are not your grandmother’s scones. Many scones taste like dry sawdust, but these are moist and the flavor you see is what you get. There is a lot of love inside. My favorite is the maple pumpkin, especially this time of year. We shared some of these scones with a group of hungry cyclists after a 34-mile ride. All agreed they were excellent. All agreed they wanted more.

As for the bisconie, they are a little softer than some of those teeth-busting biscotti you may be used to.

These did not last long at our house. They go really well with a cup of tea.

Finally, we should give a little love to the croutons, which had the consistency of dried scones. What a great idea. We loved them in our salads.

Seven Sisters makes big versions of the scones and they make sandwiches with them. Imagine the endless possibilities of pairing your favorite scone with a variety of meat choices. We are looking forward to visiting their store in Johns Creek and investigating further.

Disclaimer time: Date Night did not pay for the box of goodies from Seven Sisters Scones. Our words, however, are priceless. Thanks to Farrah at Seven Sisters for sending us the package.
